The introduction will be given by Dr. Michael Danti, Professor of Archaeology at BU, and Director of the Mosul University Archaeology Program (MAP), about this program and the linkage with Mosul University. Dr. John Russell, History of Art Professor at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, will give the first lecture on excavations and research in the area of Sennacherib’s Palace at Nineveh from in 1989 and 1990. Dr. Ali Y. A. Aljuboori, Dean of the College of Archaeology, Professor of Assyriology at Mosul University and Director of Excavations at Nineveh, will present the second lecture on the recent discoveries at Nineveh from the latest field season, October 2011–December 2013. This will be followed by a short discussion on the results and the future prospects and challenges faced in the excavation of this large and important site.
