As
Chairman of the Department of Archaeology it is my pleasure to welcome
you
to our web site. We have developed this site to provide you with information
about our graduate and undergraduate programs, courses, faculty, staff,
and facilities. Although we are still a relatively young department (initiated
in 1982) we currently have over 100 undergraduate majors and over 50 graduate
students. Archaeology Alumni hold a number of prestigious positions. Our
15 faculty members are all very active in the field with projects on four
continents. These projects provide many opportunities for students to gain
field experience and topics for MA theses and PhD dissertations, in addition
to bringing up-to-date information to the classroom. You can learn more
about the various departmental projects on the faculty web pages. Please
do not hesitate to contact the main office of the Department of Archaeology,
which is open Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm. For more information
feel
free to browse through the site. |
