Tess Waresmith’s childhood dream was to become an Olympic gymnast. But when injuries began taking a toll, her mother, an alternate on the 1968 U.S. Olympic diving team, encouraged her daughter to pursue her old sport.
It seems to be working out.
Waresmith was the first Boston University diver since 1982 to qualify for the NCAA diving championship, and her team elected her tricaptain for the 2008–2009 season. Watch her in action as she practices for a tournament.
