Dr. Murphy is the Project Manager for the HGARC. She earned her Psy.D. from Our Lady of the Lake University in 2005, R.N. Diploma from Framingham Union Hospital School of Nursing in 1972, B.S.N. from the University of Texas Medical Branch in 1981, and M.S.N. and Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1992. She was a psychology intern in the Geriatric Research, Education, and Clinical Center, Boston VA Healthcare System under the supervision of Dr. Milberg in 2005 and completed the Geropsychology Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Boston VA Healthcare system in 2007. Her research interests are in social neuropsychology, caregiver support, and the social impact and quality of life of families of individuals with aphasia.
