Location

The Harold Goodglass Aphasia Research Center is located on the 12th floor, D wing of the Main Tower Building in the Jamaica Plain Campus of the Boston VA Healthcare System.  The main office is room D 12-93C.  When you enter the main hospital building, locate the main elevators and take the elevator up to the 12th floor. As you exit the elevator locate the D wing and go all the way to the end of this hallway.

Directions to Aphasia/Neurobehavioral Rounds:

Rounds are held in the basement conference room in the Jamaica Plain Campus of the Boston VA Healthcare System.  When you enter the main hospital building, locate the main elevators. Take the elevator down one floor to the basement. As you exit the elevator, find the vending machines. The basement conference room is immediately to the left of the vending machines. If you are a participant in rounds, there will be two chairs by the doors for you and your guest. Please make yourself comfortable and our staff will meet you there.

Driving Directions:

From the North:

Take Route I-93 into Boston – Storrow Drive Exit. Follow Storrow Drive to Fenway Exit to Kenmore Square. Turn left onto Brookline Avenue and follow it to the end (Route 9). Turn left on Route 9. Go under the overpass and take a right at the first set of lights (Citgo station on your right on the corner) onto South Huntington Avenue. Follow the trolley tracks approximately a quarter of a mile on South Huntington Avenue and you will see the VA Hospital at the top of the hill (a large white building). Make a left turn into the VA parking lot and follow the signs for patient parking.

From the West (and from the North for routes leading to I-95):

Take Route 2 or 128/I-95 South to Route 9 East. Go approximately 5 miles. After the light for Brookline Avenue, go under the overpass and take a right at the first set of lights (Citgo station on your right on the corner) onto South Huntington Avenue. Follow the trolley tracks approximately a quarter of a mile on South Huntington Avenue and you will see the VA Hospital at the top of the hill (a large white building). Make a left turn into the VA parking lot and follow the signs for patient parking.

From the South:

Take RT 3, 24, or I-95 to RT 128/I-95 North. Take exit to Route 9 East (towards Boston). Follow Route 9 approximately 5 miles through Brookline Village. Public Transportation:

MBTA’s Green Line [E-South Huntington/Heath Street]:

Take the E train to the last stop (outbound), Heath Street. 2) #39 bus travels between Forest Hill and Copley down Huntington Ave., and stops in front of the VA Hospital. Parking: Parking is free. You can park in any of the lots designated for patient parking. The first lot entrance is in front of the main hospital building and there are handicapped spots in this lot. The second lot entrance is past the main entrance, also on your left.
