Alan Mandell, M.D.

Dr. Mandell is an Assistant Professor of Neurology and Psychiatry at Boston University and Staff Neurologist at the Bedford VA Medical Center and Boston University Medical Center. He is also a consulting Neurologist at the Boston VA Medical Center. He earned his MD at the University of Michigan in 1974 and completed the Behavioral Neurology Fellowship at BU School of Medicine in 1980. His research interests are in dementia and he is an investigator in studies at the Boston University Alzheimer’s Disease Center and the Framingham Heart Study. Dr. Mandell has received Teaching Excellence Awards through the Department of Neurology at BU. He has been affiliated with the HGARC since 1978 and serves as discussant at Aphasia/Neurobehavioral Rounds.
