Tanzania

The United Republic of Tanzania is located in Eastern Africa along the coast of the Indian Ocean and is home to approximately 41 million people. The people of Tanzania elect a president and vice president by popular vote every five years. The president-elect appoints a prime minister and cabinet from the National Assembly, Tanzania's legislative body. President Jakaya Kikwete has served as chief of state and head of government since December 21, 2005.
