UNEP--The
United Nations Environmental Program has sponsored a new website,
African Environmental Outlook
(AEO). The website is an ambitious effort to combine resources
of six environmental agencies concerned with Africa to provide
a clear and broadly conceived view of Africa's current environmental
issues. AEO is not a database providing in-depth statistics
or detailed policy analysis, but is an on-line test document
that offers a valuable overview for non-specialists. For those
interested in the politics of environmental politics in Africa
the document, divided into topic and regionally oriented sections,
indicates key stakeholders in environmental policy development.
