Verde
The Republic of Cape Verde is a compilation of islands located just off the coast of western Africa and is home to over four hundred thousand people. The people of Cape Verde elect a president every five years by popular vote. The president-elect appoints a Council of Ministers on the recommendation of the prime minister, who is nominated by the National Assembly and appointed by the president. President Pedro Verona Rodriques Pires has served as chief of state since March 22, 2001.
