Benin

The Republic of Benin is located in western Africa along the coast of the Atlantic Ocean and is home to almost seven million people. The people of Benin elect a president every five years by popular vote. The president-elect appoints a Council of Ministers to serve as his cabinet of advisors. President Mathieu Kerekou has served as chief of state and head of government since April 4, 1996.
