With the greatest regret, we share with you the news that we have lost our illustrious colleague Professor Mary Beaudry. Prof. Beaudry passed away suddenly on Tuesday, October 20, from complications of an existing heart condition. Tragically, this occurred only several months shy of her long-planned and much-anticipated retirement slated for the end of this academic year.
While we had hoped to honor her in person later this year, we intend to honor Mary’s contributions to BU and our community as soon as we are able, and to include her many students, past and present, in those conversations. Our sympathies to those who knew throughout her long career, and to those who have lost a teacher and mentor. We have lost a valued colleague and our university has lost one of its most eminent scholars.
