Sulfatrim Stock solution (oral suspension):

200 mg sulfamethoxazole and 40 mg trimethoprim/5 ml = 240 mg sulfatrim/5 ml=48 mg/ml

For mice:    Assume a 1.0 kg mouse drinking 150 ml water/24 hours.

1.0 kg x 95 mg   = 1.9792 ml stock solution/150 ml drinking water

Dilution:

1.98 ml = X ml               X= 3.3 ml of stock in 250 ml drinking water

1.98 ml = X ml               X= 5.3 ml of stock in 400 ml drinking water

150 ml    400 ml
