M.A. 2005 Child Development, Tufts
University
I am the Coordinator of the Infant Sibling Project, a project
in collaboration with Children's Hospital Boston. My responsibilities
include management of daily project activities, recruitment
and screening of families, conducting cognitive, diagnostic,
and language assessments, as well as, ERP experiments with
infants and children. In addition, I am responsible for administering
clinical interviews and questionnaires to parents.
Before joining the lab, I was in Paris, France working as
an Early Intervention and Applied Behavior Analysis specialist
for families of children with autism and speech language impairment
in their educational and home settings. In the metro Boston
area, I completed an internship at T-NEMC's Center for Children
with Special Needs and was involved in daily observation and
assessments of children with various developmental disabilities.
There, I was also responsible for the coordination of an educational
program in which the parents of a child with a chronic illness
or disability trained and taught pediatric residents what
it is like to care for a family living with special needs.
In the past, I worked for the East Boston Family study, a
longitudinal research study in which I interviewed teens and
their parents. In addition, I worked for the Tufts Child and
Family Webguide research project, a website dedicated to the
dissemination of reliable internet information on child development
for policy makers, professionals and parents.
I am very interested in early intervention strategies and
the improvement of interventions and educational opportunities
for children with autism and related developmental disabilities
around the world. For this reason, my future plans are to
pursue a degree in pediatric speech and language pathology
and I would also like to contribute to global efforts addressing
these issues.
