B.A. 2000 Biology and Neuroscience, Wesleyan University

I am currently pursuing a combined M.D./Ph.D. at Boston University School of Medicine in the Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology. I have completed two years of medical school and am now working on my graduate studies in the Lab of
Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience. I will be involved in the research conducted under the new brain imaging studies currently being conducted in the Lab.

I initially developed interests in neuroscience as an undergraduate student, and I soon became interested in research. On campus, I conducted studies investigating relationships between locomotion and hippocampal activity in rats.
After graduation, however, I decided to pursue clinical research, so I worked as a research coordinator for two years in a lab that investigated executive function in schizophrenia and Asperger’s Syndrome. These included both behavioral and neuroimaging studies, and it was there that I first became interested in MRI research.

Following my Ph.D., I will return to the medical school to complete the dual degree program. I am considering either neurology or pediatric neurology as a specialty.
