Research Assistant

B.A. 2006 Psychology, Connecticut College

As a research assistant for the STAART Child and Family Project, I am involved in conducting a variety of cognitive, diagnostic, and language-based assessments with children with autism.

Since I was in high school, I have been dedicated to working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder. During my undergraduate education, I interned as an instructional assistant at an Applied
Behavior Analysis school for children with autism. In addition, I volunteered for a semester at the Centro Anne Sullivan del Peru, which is a school that serves 450 students with autism and other
developmental disabilities. My honors thesis study involved using ABA techniques to teach children with autism to make requests during a functional and a natural task. In the future, I hope to attend graduate school in clinical psychology and continue to work with children with autism and related
developmental disabilities.
