In our lab, I oversee clinical-diagnostic assessments of the children participating in our projects. I also work as one of the principal investigators in our research program on language and social communication in children with autism and specific language impairment. My main research interest is in developing a better understanding of social disability, and its neurobiological and genetic bases, in children with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism and Turner syndrome. My current research focuses on the ways in which children attend to, perceive, and respond emotionally to information from faces, such as shifts of gaze and facial expressions of emotion.
