As the director of the lab, I oversee all the main activities of our research programs. I have long-standing interests in language and social-cognitive development in a number of different populations, especially autism, Williams syndrome, and language disorders. More recently, my research has explored the connections among genes, brain pathology and cognitive/behavioral impairments in people with these disorders at different ages. My work is supported by grants from the National Institutes of Health and other foundations. I have edited a number of books, published many articles and chapters, and serve on the editorial boards of several professional journals. I have presented my research at many professional conferences, parent advocacy group meetings, and training institutes.
