B.A. 2005 Linguistics, Yale University
I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Psychology at Boston University.
During my undergraduate years, I worked in a variety of labs,
with research topics including phonetics, primate cognition,
and psychotherapeutic treatments for adolescent depression
and anxiety. However, after a summer working at the LDCN,
I found that autism research truly captured my interest.
As my background is in linguistics, my research is primarily
focused on language in children with developmental disorders,
which allows me to work with several of the groups within
the lab. Currently, I am investigating the ways in which adolescents
and adults with Williams syndrome and autism use prosody and
other forms of expressiveness to tell stories. In the future,
I hope to examine various aspects of language acquisition
in toddlers with autism.
