This Core provides administrative and data processing support for the Program Director, co-Director, and the Project and other Core Leaders of the component research projects. Support provided by the Core includes day-to-day fiscal management, grant administration, preparation of progress reports, manuscripts, photography, photocopying, and other clerical and administrative functions.
The Core also provides clinical data entry, analysis, and retrieval. Coded patient data is stored in an Access database, and includes more than 400 fields per patient with demographic information and detailed information on clinical features of disease and treatment responses that are updated at each followup visit.
Core C is responsible for organization and coordination of weekly data conferences involving all the project and core investigators; Core C also coordinates periodic invited clinical and basic amyloidosis research speakers, project leader meetings, and makes all the arrangements for the Advisory Committee meetings.
