Financial Aid and Tuition
For entering students, financial aid comes in several
forms. The most generous award is the Presidential University Graduate
Fellowship (PUGF), which provides full-time tuition and a stipend for the
first year followed by a teaching fellowship for either two or three more years. Only one PUGF is offered each year. We also offer one-year research fellowships with
area museums, one-year teaching fellowships in affiliated departments (only available for those who enter with a Masters degree) and one-year graduate assistantships. Each of these packages also cover
full-time tuition and pay a stipend.
The Admissions Committee
awards financial aid during the application review, so we encourage
you to make sure your application is complete by January 15. Please know that only a limited amount of financial aid exists each year, and that all entering students are not guaranteed to receive an offer of aid from the program.

tuition, living expenses and federal loans, please consult the Graduate
School of Arts and Sciences Financial Aid site.
