Indigenous Studies Working Group, April Seminar Lunch

Kimberley Toney (Hassanamisco Nipmuc) will be visiting the Indigenous Studies Working Group (ISWG) for a seminar over lunch to discuss her work as the Inaugural Coordinating Curator of Native American and Indigenous Collections at the John Carter Brown Library and at the John Hay Library at Brown University. Americanist Forum

Sponsored by the American and New England Studies Program (AMNESP) at BU, the Americanist Forum functions like a conference panel/symposium, with multiple speakers delivering papers during a given session. Each semester, there is an open call for papers for BU students in the humanities (graduate students or advanced undergraduates).

Indigenous Studies Working Group, Killers of the Flower Moon series

Hosted by BU’s Conversations in the Arts and Ideas, David Grann, author of Killers of the Flower Moon, discussed his work at BU on Wednesday, February 28, at 7pm. Throughout the week, the ISWG participated in the conversation with Grann and discussed other works about Osage history in the 1920s.

Archives and Knowledge Keepers: Native American and Indigenous Studies and the Art of History

This one day symposium showcased early career scholars whose work engages Indigenous modes of knowledge production and might incorporate textual archives but also artifacts, oral traditions, and non-alphabetic material texts. May 4, 2023 | 10am-5pm
