Background
Jane Mwicigi completed her undergraduate training at the University Of Nairobi Medical School where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery. Jane then completed her Master’s degree in Public Health at Boston University majoring in Epidemiology and Biostatistics. She joined the Alzheimer’s Disease Center at Boston University School of Medicine in September 2002.
ADC role
Jane serves as a clinical Research Associate for the Alzheimer’s Disease Anti-inflammatory Prevention Trial (ADAPT), a research study sponsored by NIH aimed at determining if non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications may reduce the incidence of Alzheimer’s disease or delay its onset. She is also the project manager for Cholesterol Agent to Slow the Progression of Alzheimer’s Disease (CLASP-AD), a research study aimed at evaluating whether Simvastatin, a cholesterol lowering medicine, will help reduce the progression of Alzheimer’s disease for patients diagnosed with mild or moderate disease.
Research Interests
Jane’s research interests are focused on clinical trials for drugs that may be beneficial in either prevention or treatment of Alzheimer’s disease.
