Background
Kristen Huber graduated from Bowdoin College in 2008 with a degree in Neuroscience. Her senior thesis project examined the neuromodulatory actions of structurally related neuropeptides on two central pattern generators in the lobster stomatogastric nervous system. Kristen joined the Alzheimer’s Disease Center team in July 2008.
ADC Role
As the Education & Information Transfer Core Coordinator, Kristen will be involved in managing the education and outreach activities of the ADC for health care professionals, family caregivers, ADC research participants, researchers, and the lay public.
Kristen is also the Program Coordinator for the PAIRS Program, which matches first-year medical students with early-stage Alzheimer's patients in order to promote social interaction and communication between the two groups and increase future physicians' understanding of early-stage dementia.
Kristen is also involved with data collection and other tasks for the Heart & Brain Aging study that is investigating the relationship between heart and brain health in individuals with mild cognitive impairment. The study is directed by Dr. Angela Jefferson and Dr. David Tate.
