Background
Susan completed her Bachelors of Science degree in Human Biology: genes, genetics and biotechnology at the University of Toronto. She then received a Masters of Science degree in Genetic Counseling from Northwestern University, and is now a board certified genetic counselor. She joined the Alzheimer's Disease Center in July 2006.
ADC Role
Susan serves as the genetic counselor and project manager for the REVEAL study, a multi-center research project evaluating the impact of providing genetic-based risk assessments for susceptibility to late-onset Alzheimer's disease.
Research Interests
Susan's current research interests include exploring risk perception in those seeking genetic susceptibility testing. Her previous work has focused on ethical and policy aspects of newborn screening for genetic conditions.
