She conducted a senior research project in molecular neurobiology, investigating the role of calcium-permeable AMPA receptors in the development of young hippocampal cell morphology. Nicole joined the BU Alzheimer’s Disease Center team in June 2009.
ADC Role
Nicole is involved with data collection and a variety of other tasks for research projects within the Jefferson lab. She serves as a pychometrician, administering neuropsychological tests to participants within these studies. Nicole is currently focusing on a pilot study investigating the cognitive effects of traditional and robotic-assisted versions of coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. Nicole is also the Program Coordinator for the PAIRS Program, which matches first-year medical students with early-stage Alzheimer’s patients to promote social interaction and communication between the two groups and increase future physicians’ understanding of dementia.
