Background
Margaret Brickley completed her RN diploma at New England Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in 1976. She received her undergraduate degree from Bridgewater State College in 1980. She received her Masters in Nursing in 2000 and Nursing Practitioner CAS in 2004 from Northeastern University. She is currently board certified in acute care nursing. Ms. Brickley joined the Alzheimer’s Disease Center at Boston University School of Medicine in April 2002.
ADC Role
Margaret serves as a study clinician and project manager for the VITAL study, a research study investigating the use of high dose B vitamins in reducing Homocysteine levels and cognitive decline in persons with Alzheimer’s disease. She also works as a study clinician for the ADAPT study which is investigating the use of NSAIDS in preventing Alzheimer’s disease. She was the project manager for LEADS, a study that investigated the use of lecithin in reducing cognitive decline in persons with Alzheimer’s disease.
Research Interests
Margaret’s research interests are focused on Alzheimer’s disease; preventive or treatment trials for persons with Alzheimer’s disease or healthy adults with a family history of dementia. She is on the medical staff as a nurse practitioner for the Boston University Department of Neurology.
