Congratulations!

The ADC Pilot Grants Program recently announced its awards for 2005. These one-year grants provide $30,000 in direct costs to support promising new investigators in AD research. Congratulations to this year’s awardees:

  • Dr. Maureen O’Connor, for a project entitled, “The Effects of Exercise Training on Physical and Cognitive Function in Community Dwelling African Americans.”
  • Dr. Angela Jefferson, for a project entitled, “Neurogenetics and Mild Cognitive Impairment.”

NIH predoctoral trainee Dapo Akinleye of the ADC-sponsored REVEAL Study will begin this Fall in the doctoral program in epidemiology at the SUNY-Albany School of Public Health. ADC research nurse and study coordinator Patrick Compton is graduating this summer with a master’s degree from the BU School of Public Health, with a concentration in environmental health.

ADC research assistant Veronica Santini will begin medical school this Fall at the BU School of Medicine (BUSM).

Dr. Scott Roberts has recently been appointed Co-Director of the ADC Education Core. He will work with Core Co-Director Dr. Kathy Horvath to continue to develop Center educational programs and materials for both professionals and the lay public.

Welcome New Staff & Trainees
