Clinical Research Assistant
We have an opening for a clinical research assistant to work
predominantly
on large, multi-site clinical research studies dealing with the prevention and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). The RA will be responsible for administering neuropsychological tests to research participants with dementia or mild cognitive impairment, as well as to healthy elderly controls. The RA will also be responsible for assisting with coordination
of various studies, including scheduling appointments and addressing patient and caregiver concerns, corresponding with various departments in the hospital, and handling other administrative tasks. In addition, the RA may have the opportunity to work on a variety of research projects, gaining experience in manuscript preparation and grant writing.
This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain clinical research experience in the areas of neuropsychology, cognitive aging, clinical neuroscience, and Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. The RA will work with a multidisciplinary team of experts in neuropsychology, neurology, psychiatry, neurosurgery, and public health. This is superb experience for individuals planning to apply to medical school or graduate school in psychology, public health, or neuroscience. Research Coordinator
We have an opening for a research coordinator to serve as the main assistant to the Clinical Director of the Alzheimer's Disease Center. The position will be composed of research support, administrative duties, and Development activities. The research coordinator provides administrative support (including paperwork, proofreading and scheduling) to department members; participates in the preparation and writing of grant proposals and IRB submissions; and performs research duties including library and literature searches, editing of scientific manuscripts, assembly of manuscript-ready tables and figures for scientific presentations and publications. Other tasks include serving as AD Research Program Development Liaison; managing donations; planning semi-annual meetings, donor visits, and fundraising events; and maintaining regular communication with Board members, Development staff and ADAB Research committee. 4-6 years experience, background in administration, finance or public health and Master’s degree required. Excellent verbal/written communication skills and strict attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be flexible, creative, energetic, decisive, and able to work independently. Familiarity with IRB submissions and NIH grant applications a plus.
