Overview of the New England Geriatric Research, Education and Clinical Center (GRECC)
Established in 1975, the New England Geriatric Research, Education and Clinical Center (GRECC) is one of the first of the VA Centers of Excellence for care of the aging veteran. The Bedford Division of the New England GRECC has been a leader in research, education, and clinical services for Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders. The program is best known for innovations in late-stage Alzheimer’s disease and, in particular, a palliative care and hospice approach that emphasizes quality of life for the veteran and family.
