Researchers from the VA-BU-CLF Brain Bank announced November 3rd, 2016 that former New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles player Kevin Turner, who was diagnosed with ALS in 2010 and died at age 46 earlier this year, had CTE. Alzheimer's disease affects more than 5 million Americans. Groundbreaking research is attempting to stop the disease before it starts, but needs healthy volunteers. The BU ADC is recruiting 65-85 year olds with normal thinking and memory abilities for the A4study, a clinical trial aimed at preventing the disease before it starts.
