Frequently Asked Questions

With so many things to do, places to go, and people to meet, you’re sure to have a few questions. If you don’t find the answers here, use our contact form and we’ll get back to you right away.

Where can I go to relax and meet up with old friends?

No question—Alumni Weekend Headquarters. Relax, enjoy refreshments and music, and catch up with people you’ve been wanting to see. Just look for the big, festive tent set up on Marsh Plaza outside Marsh Chapel (735 Commonwealth Avenue).

A special hospitality suite for Golden Terriers (classes of 1962 and earlier) will be open on Saturday, September 22 in Barristers Hall, located in the first floor of the School of Law (765 Commonwealth Avenue).

What if I need assistance getting around campus?

At your earliest convenience, please call Disability Services at 617-353-3658 or email access@bu.edu for information regarding special accommodations.

What should I wear?

Pack casual clothes—that’s what you’ll need for most Alumni Weekend activities. For evening events such as the school and college receptions, or for alumni awards ceremonies, you may want to wear something on the more formal side.

Don’t forget to purchase your Alumni Weekend t-shirt through online registration!

Keep in mind that the average temperature on campus in late September is between 46 and 63 degrees Fahrenheit. But remember: this is Boston, so anything can happen.

How do I print my Alumni Card?

Your Alumni Card is available online! It is conveniently sized to fit in your wallet. Print it before you come back to campus and show it to get discounts at Barnes & Noble @ BU.

Log in to the Alumni Online Community and select “Print Alumni Card” next to your where your name appears. For classes of 2009 and earlier, first register at bu.edu/alumni if you haven’t already done so. For classes of 2010 and later, simply use your BU email address including the @bu.edu and your kerberos password.

Should I bring my kids?

While Alumni Weekend offers activities that kids will enjoy, much of the programming is not designed for children. The Saturday lunch, A Taste of BU, is a good opportunity to involve the entire family in Alumni Weekend. A child price is available for those 12 years and younger.

I can’t make it to Alumni Weekend. How can I be there in spirit?

Your support is a true investment in people and education. Give online to your school or college fund and make an impact on BU students, faculty, and facilities.
