Clyde and Eleanor Claus at their home in
Barnstable, Massachusetts
We made a provision for Boston University in the first wills
we had drawn after our marriage forty-three years ago. It
was, and still is, a major percentage of our eventual residual
estates. This was an easy decision, which grew from the knowledge
that tuition covered only a fraction of the cost of the education
provided and that we had a clear responsibility to financially
support the University on an annual basis and after our deaths
as well.
Also, we are preparing to make a planned gift soon that will
provide some capital funds for Boston University and create
a charitable tax deduction for us now and annuity payments
too. A real best-of-both-worlds situation.
Both of us feel satisfaction and pleasure in knowing that
we have taken some actions that will help the University meet
its mission into the future.
