“I am grateful for the need that MET fulfilled in my life. The excellence of our faculty, the strength of our research programs, and our commitment to the education of future generations of leaders has placed the University at the forefront of American higher education.”

S.D. Shibulal, MET'88
I was in Boston, and MET was the obvious choice because I was working and because BU is a very good university. I liked the professors, and I met good friends here. I had a good time. I still remember what a good teacher Tanya Zlateva is. We all recommended her class to each other.

Sacha Pfeiffer MET ’94
“MET’s flexibility was crucial for me. I continue to believe that my time at the University, both as a student and as an employee, shaped my life in immeasurably positive ways.

Kyung-shick Choi MET ’02
“Boston University’s diversity, international reputation, and excellent faculty have prepared me with a strong academic foundation and invaluable practical knowledge.”

Corporal Joshua Tison MET ’04

“Attending MET was invaluable to my career. MET has now given me the opportunity to give back what I have learned.”

Chris Bell MET’02
“I am a former MET Student who is now in Portland, Oregon, reaping the benefits of my MET experience! Presently I am applying to a program that MET Helped me work toward, a program in Urban Planning at Portland State.”

Lawrence Applebaum, MET'81
I am very proud of my Boston University degree and pleased that I had the opportunity to earn that degree at Metropolitan College.

The fourteen-month period it took me to complete the requirements for the degree of Master of Science in Business Administration was an exceptionally fine educational experience. The competency and the professionalism of the professors were nothing less than outstanding. When I started the program in 1980, I had just entered the twilight of my military career and my focus was beginning to sharpen on my second career.

I am currently a corporate officer with a German firm that serves both the US government and private sector markets. On a daily basis, I must apply various aspects of theory and use some techniques that I learned during my time at Metropolitan College to fulfill my managerial responsibilities.

I wholeheartedly endorse Boston University and everything for which it stands.

Michel Niezen, MET'93
In 1987 I started a company with 500,000 Bef (U.S. $11,700.00) in Belgium. In 2000, the assets of my company are 80,000,000 Bef (U.S. $1,850,000). Without a MSM degree I could never have reached this level of activity.

John P. Moliere, MET'86
As Executive Vice President heading the Government Markets practice for Ifsec, LLC I have been able to lead the effort to protect our nation's vital assets, maintain individual's privacy imperatives and ensure the integrity of information that citizens use in their daily lives. This has been enabled with my enrollment at BU in 1964 under the GI Bill culminating in my graduation in 1986 after a ten-year hiatus in Washington as a "techie" supporting my family.

Alane Levy, MET '94, MET'00
My experience at Metropolitan College has meant career advancement to a highly responsible and technically challenging position in a leading edge software company. Along with that goes an increased sense of self esteem and a feeling of accomplishment and personal satisfaction.

Laurent J. LaBrie, MET'89
Working in third world development, my Master's in Business Administration has been essential to assessing the socio-economic needs of Romania. More than any other part of my education, the preparation I received at Metropolitan College has allowed me to achieve the objectives set to shape the youth for the future.

Joseph Chavez, MET'98
My experience at Metropolitan College has given me the opportunity to further my education and pursue a doctoral degree in public administration. My Master's in Urban Affairs at Boston University's Metropolitan College has opened doors for me in higher circles, too.

Carl Emmons, MET'97
The discipline of running a business, commuting two hours to class, pursuing sports interests, etc., showed me once again what I could handle efficiently and successfully. The program gave me exposure to interesting people, situations, and challenged me in ways that were new to me. The instructors were knowledgeable and friendly. I have returned to teaching with a broader understanding of the work in general and the arts specifically. I would do it again without hesitation.

Janis Randall, MET'01
Because I am a recipient of Boston University's Metropolitan College Alumni Scholarship, I can testify to the tremendous difference it has made in the quality of my college experience. Prior to receiving the award, family-related financial issues became a strain on my very busy life. I juggled two jobs and parenting responsibilities for my children, while taking courses at Metropolitan College. Economic problems involving personal and parental debts interfered with the enjoyment of my college dream. The monetary assistance I received from the scholarship enabled me to continue to support my two college-age children plus balance the financial constraint of a new full-time career, while pursuing my lifelong goal of earning an undergraduate degree. I will be forever grateful for the honor and assistance granted to me by Metropolitan's Alumni Scholarship Committee.

Steven Russell, MET'84
My experience at Metropolitan College has created greater insight into how the business world works and laid the initial foundation for my business career.

Ralph E. Burroughs, MET'88
The education and experience that I gained from Boston University and the Metropolitan College allowed an easy, smooth, and rewarding transition from an army career to the private sector. The curriculum, the faculty, and the students provided the environment to stimulate my learning. I am pleased to tell all that I am a Metropolitan and BU graduate.

Peter Rouff, MET'98 MS
The University, the faculty, and the program -- all top notch.

Edith Sarah, MET'75
I earned my master's degree at Metropolitan College and thus began my career as a community organizer and a writer. I believe the work I did in the Boston community as Director of the Foster Grand Parent Program was a true representation of the philosophies I studied and the orientation toward helping people to help children of our city.
