Iordanis I. Arzimanoglou Iordanis I. Arzimanoglou, Ph.D.

Iordanis I. Arzimanoglou, Ph.D., had spent more than a decade doing research and teaching at Cornell Medical School and Lennox Hill Hospital in New York when, in 2000, he decided to pursue another career path in the high tech scientific sector of private enterprise. Knowing that his background in molecular genetics had prepared him for the technical aspects of such a career move, Arzimanoglou felt that he was lacking in the business skills necessary to succeed in this field.

To fill this void, he enrolled in the B.U. Brussels program. In April, 2001, Arzimanoglou graduated with a Graduate Certificate in International Business Management. Of his time in the program, he says, "I came to realize that factors such as, adequate analysis of concepts in class, qualified professors, a highly interactive class., and frequent exposure to the real business world.is what made the difference."

In 2003, armed with both the technical and business knowledge to succeed in the field of biotechnology, Armanizoglou became Director and CEO of Biomedico Forum (BMF), a biotechnology strategy and business development unit in Denmark. BMF is located in the Aarhus Science Park and plays the role of the interface between the Aarhus academia and bio-industry. BMF's members include biotech companies, academic/hospital departments, consultants, legal firms, and IPR firms like Patrade. Its mission is to catalyze, support, and coordinate Life Sciences & Biotechnology activity in Aarhus.

As Director and CEO, Armanizoglou's duties include facilitating biopartnering between local and foreign companies and catalyzing bio-investments in Aarhus. His responsibilities also include managing the biocluster, coordinating activities within the cluster, and ensuring that the Aarhus biocluster has a strong impact in Europe.
