BU Young Alumni Networking Night

The Boston University Alumni Club of Greater New York invites you to an evening of social networking for our young alumni. Welcome spring while mingling and reconnecting with your fellow BU alumni. We look forward to seeing you there!

3rd Annual Career Night: Bulletproof Your Career for Today, Tomorrow and the Next Decade

Established alumni, alumni in transition and recent alumni, please join the BU Alumni Club of Greater New York for a special evening of career insights and professional development with distinguished alumni career experts. We have assembled an exciting group with knowledge in a variety of areas to speak about the present and future of your career. Advice comes from the following experts in their fields:

Moderator:

Bernadette Beekman (LAW’82), Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Yorkson Legal
Bernadette received her LLM in Tax Law from Boston University and has worked in Paris and in Los Angeles. She will discuss the importance of career flexibility based on the worldwide economic situation and will discuss her expatriate experience.

Panelists:

Beverly Daniel (CGS, SMG, SED), Career Coach/Counselor, CareerGrowth Group
Beverly received a Masters in Career Counseling and an MBA and worked for 20 years in Executive Search for finance, information technology, management consulting, marketing and non-profit professionals. She will discuss creating a career plan to insure your success going forward.

Jennifer Cashman Miller, Managing Director JLS Search
Jennifer received her JD from Boston University. She will discuss trends in the marketplace, for lawyers, paralegals, part-time employees. She will discuss how all professionals in several different fields can work with executive recruiters in difficult economic times.

Jerry Schwartz (CGS’67, COM’69), President, G.S. Schwartz & Co.
Jerry is a graduate of the College of Communication. He will discuss the future of careers in communications, investor relations and public relations. In addition, Jerry will inform us of the importance of digital communications in the next decade.

Shawn Zupp (COM’95), Senior Account Director, Atmosphere, BBDO Advertising and President of Atmosherix
Shawn is also a graduate of the College of Communication. He will talk to us about the future of advertising in the Web-based world.
