The Boston University Alumni Club of Greater Boston connects area alumni to the university community through social, networking, and volunteer opportunities, and academic refreshment. We help you establish connections with fellow alumni, and show you what BU can still do for you!

Meet the Board

Born and raised in Colorado, Sally Bessee moved to Boston in 1999 to pursue a Bachelor's degree in International Relations and Russian Language & Literature, which she received in 2003. She has fond memories of living in the Honors House on Bay State Road. Currently, Sally works as the Senior Legal Assistant at Ross, Silverman & Levy LLP, a small immigration law firm downtown. She has been involved with the alumni association since joining the Student Alumni Council as an undergraduate.

Originally from Michigan, Chris Glenn spent two years at Hillsdale College before transferring to Boston University's College of Engineering in 2001. With two semesters of internships, he graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering in 2004. Currently he works in microprocessor development at IBM's Systems and Technology group and currently serves as the Chairperson of the BU Alumni Board of Greater Boston. Chris can often be found in the new Fitness & Recreation Center on campus. His fondest memories of BU are living on Bay State Road and studying on top of Shelton Hall.

Anton Denissov is an authentic Terrier import. Born in the frozen plains of St. Petersburg, Russia, he has found a new home in Boston. Like any self-respecting terrier, he lived through his share of 8 a.m. calculus classes and weekend study sessions. After graduating in 2003 with a BA in Economics and Computer Science, he returned to become GSM Class of '05, focusing on strategy and consulting. In his post-kennel days, Anton enjoys his role as an analyst at a Telecom/IT consulting company in downtown Boston, specializing in go-to-market strategies and global regulations. In his spare time, he loves exploring the world and just hanging out.

A 1989 graduate of the College of Arts and Sciences Elizabeth Geiler's, career has focused on the Financial Services industry. Currently, she is a Director at Bank of America, acting as the Business Manager for the Consulting Services Group Research Team. Prior to joining Bank of America, Elizabeth was an Associate Vice President with State Street Research and Management Company, where she provided client service to the firm's subadvisory clients. She earned her BA in International Relations, Business and Economics and minored in French. Elizabeth also volunteers for the American Cancer Society, participating in fundraising events.

Constance Golder (SED '05), originally from Connecticut, also lived and studied in Montreal, Canada, before moving to Boston with her husband. She became an early-childhood Mass. state certified teacher, specializing in the infant/toddler ages. In 2000, she took a new path, to Boston University's School of Medicine, Center For Human Genetics, where she has worked since, as a secretary and receptionist. In 2005, Constance obtained her Master of Education, from BU's School of Education, in Human Resource Education, a program focusing on adult learning and human resource development in workplace organizations. She is also a member of BU's chapter of Pi Lambda Theta, a professional association in education.

Beth Mahon was employed at Boston University for over 15 years before taking the opportunity to work as the new Director of Member Services at Eduventures, Inc. downtown. While working full-time at Boston University, Beth earned a B.S. in Communication and Ed.M. in Higher Education Administration. Some of the positions held at Boston University include her appointment to the Office of Human Resources as an Employment and Training Specialist, Assistant to Vice President in the Office of Planning, Budgeting, and Information, Manager for the Office of Student Employment, Work-Study Program Office, and Associate Director of Operations for the Graduate School of Management, Graduate Programs Office. She resides in Arlington, and is an avid skier.

Originally from New Jersey, Tara Murray earned a BA in International Relations (CAS '00, CGS '98). Tara is a sister of Gamma Phi Beta. During her years at BU, she rowed for the BU Novice Crew Team ('96-'97). While at CGS, she served on the student government board, planning community service events. Upon graduating from BU, she spent 18 months living in her mother's homeland, Graz, Austria, studying the German language and traveling throughout Eastern and Central Europe, including the Balkans! When she returned home in March 2002, Tara spent 3 and a half years working in Human Resources for a non-profit organization in Manhattan. While working in New York, Tara was active on the Greater NY BU Alumni Board. In September 2005, Tara decided to move back to Boston and is now working for Fidelity Investments on the Investment Recruiting Team. While she misses the Jersey shore, she loves being back in Boston. Her passion is travel and will not say no to anyone that asks her to plan a trip.

Originally from Leominster, Massachusetts, Anthony Orlando graduated as a Trustee Scholar magna cum laude from the Honors Program in 2004 with a degree in Geophysics and Planetary Sciences and a minor in French. He currently works as an Assistant Director in BU's Office of Undergraduate Admissions. An avid Red Sox fan, many of his fondest BU memories are from times spent at Fenway Park with friends. Anthony currently resides in Brookline.

Jessica Pena graduated from Boston University's School of Hospitality Administration in 2004. During her time at BU, Jessica was involved in the National Society for Minorities in Hospitality, the SHA Student Government, and the Bay State Road RHA. Her junior year, Jessica traveled to London with BU's Semester Abroad program, where she studied European Literature, Marketing, Advertising, and Public Relations. Jessica currently works as an Associate Consultant with the Forum Corporation in Boston, where she helps design and implement training programs for Fortune 500 companies in the areas of Leadership, Sales, and Service. In her spare time, Jessica is an avid traveler, reader, and dancer.

Septima (Tima) Sensenig graduated from Boston University's College of Fine Arts in 1996. After exploring life in the Central and Western United States (including San Francisco, California; Whitewater, Wisconsin; Denver, Colorado and Chicago, Illinois), Tima moved back to Boston in 2004 to indulge her true East-Coast spirit. She currently works as the New England Business Development Manager for Roux Associates, an environmental consulting firm. Tima is getting reacquainted with Boston, and also enjoys reading, playing soccer and softball, hiking, and giving flute concerts for friends and family.

A Texas transplant, Dawn Stapleton (CGS '90) graduated from the School of Communications in 1992 with a B.S. in print journalism. After working for several years as a freelance writer and graphic designer in the Washington, D.C., metro area, she returned to Boston to pursue a career in healthcare communications. Currently, Dawn works for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund as an editor and writer. Producing their women's cancers magazine, Turning Point, is among her primary responsibilities. She has served on the Board of BU's Alumni Club of Greater Boston and its predecessors for the past five years.
