Joanne Jarzobski (CAS’96) of Hyannis, Mass., received the 2007 Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs Secretary’s Award for Excellence in Environmental Education. The award honors MassSail, a program she designed to promote awareness and stewardship of the Massachusetts
coastal waters, as well as of the entire marine ecosystem, aboard the schooner Spirit of Massachusetts. Joanne also received the Massachusetts Marine Educators 2007 Educator of the Year Award and a Ruth Hiebert Fellowship to support women in science and education.
