Tarrah Lee Curtis (COM’00) of Manhattan Beach, Calif., along with Kimberly Ehlmann (COM’07) and Stevie Lee Lundgren (COM’07), worked at this year’s Oscars. Tarrah coordinated press on the red carpet and at the Governors Ball. Kimberly managed press in the backstage interview rooms and coordinated “A Celebration of Oscar Fashions.” Stevie Lee oversaw the fan bleachers along the red carpet before tackling the press line at the Governors Ball.

Pascha Griffiths (COM’02) of Somerville, Mass., is the founder of the Beloved Quilts Project, which makes and distributes quilts to those in the Boston area who are displaced due to poverty or violence. Gail Cayetano (COM’04, CGS’02) of Venice, Calif., and Stacy Leventhal (CFA’05) of Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., were honorees at 944 Magazine’s Young and In Charge gala, celebrating Los Angeles entrepreneurs under the age of 30. Gail and Stacy cofounded Starfish Creative Events, an event-planning company.

Thomas P. Doyle (MET’04) of New York, N.Y., is a special agent with the FBI. He completed 18 weeks of training at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Va., and is stationed in the New York City field office. Melissa Li (COM’04, CGS’03)of Somerville, Mass., a folk/acoustic-pop singer-songwriter, wrote the music and lyrics for the musical Surviving the Nian, which premiered at the Boston Center for the Arts Stanford Calderwood Pavilion in April. Melissa shared the Jonathan Larson Performing Arts Foundation Award for her work on the musical.

James Dickson (MET’05) of Kansas City, Mo., is a senior market analyst with the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.

Nazmi Karyagdi (MET’05) of Ankara, Turkey, published his master’s thesis in Turkish through the Ministry of Finance of Turkey. The book compares the tax structures in the European Union, the United States, and Turkey. Nazmi is the former chief tax inspector at the Turkish Tax Inspectors Board.

Juliana Prosperi (GRS’05) of Barrington, Ill., is a planner for Design Workshop, Inc., a landscape architecture, land planning, urban design, and tourism planning firm.

Meghan Codd (CAS’06, COM’06) of Fort Collins, Colo., accepted a yearlong post with WorldTeach in Chile, where she met the U.S. ambassador to Chile.

Randi Fowler (CFA’06) of Brooklyn, N.Y., writes that after earning a master’s in costume design at BU, she moved to New York to pursue a career as a professional costume design assistant. Since then, she has worked Off-Broadway, in regional theater, and in film and television. This summer, she is the costume shop coordinator at the Santa Fe Opera.

Harbir Singh (CAS’06) of Hummelstown, Pa., is a medical student at Penn State College of Medicine.

Mary Cotton (GRS’07) of Newtonville, Mass., bought the independent bookstore Newtonville Books. Mary, a former employee of the bookstore, met her husband, Jaime Clarke, while working there. “It seems like every day you hear about another great independent bookstore closing,” she writes. “I wanted people to hear about one staying open.”

David Silva (MED’07) and Margaretta (Gillis) Silva (CAS’96) of Temecula, Calif., announce the birth of their son, Anthony Matteo. Anthony has two sisters, Isabella and Anna. David is a business development manager, and Margaretta is a stay-at-home mother.
