Adam Zev Estreicher (CAS’96) of Tarrytown, N.Y., died in early January after being struck by a car whose driver was under the influence. After graduating from BU, Adam taught English and studied Chinese language and culture in China. He returned to Boston, where he earned a master’s degree in traditional Chinese medicine at the New England School of Acupuncture and worked in a clinic providing acupuncture to HIV patients. In 2002 he married his high school sweetheart, Tracy Triplett. “Adam was devoted to helping others through his alternative medicine practice — and just as often by providing an open and listening ear,” Tracy writes. “He had a boundless appetite for books and music of all kinds, good food, and goofy jokes. Kelly Giard (CAS’96, GRS’96) of Fort Collins, Colo., started Clean Air Lawn Care, a lawn maintenance company that uses clean electric equipment to reduce global warming and air pollution. Ben Grossman (COM’96) of Los Angeles, Calif., received an M.B.A. from the Anderson School at UCLA in 2005. He is the Los Angeles bureau chief for the national television trade publication Broadcasting & Cable. Ben also regularly provides on-air analysis of the television business for national television and radio outlets, including CNBC and National Public Radio. Suzanne Boyce (SAR’97) of Cincinnati, Ohio, is coauthor of the second edition of Eliciting Sounds: Techniques and Strategies for Clinicians (Thomson, 2007), a guide for speech pathologists on treating children with speech production problems. Suzanne’s contribution to the book explains why the “rrr” sound (as in “brrr”) is particularly difficult to learn and how to teach it.
