Felipe Amaya (CAS’90) of Fontana, Calif., is president of the Los Angeles Chapter of the Council of Nephrology Social Workers. In 2001 he received a master’s degree in social work from California State University, Long Beach, where his thesis, titled “Perceptions of Chronic Illness Among Older Latino Adults,” received his department’s outstanding thesis award. Elizabeth Valdes Blandon (CAS’90, COM’90) of Weston, Fla., recently presented oral arguments before the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals; she won the case on behalf of her Colombian asylum clients. Elizabeth graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1996.

Natalie Halpern (CAS’90, COM’90) of Arlington, Va., produced and directed the short documentary Tumaini Letu (Our Hope), about the lives, struggles, and spirit of three women who care for children orphaned by AIDS in western Kenya. The film won Best Short Documentary at the 2006 New York AIDS Film Festival and an INTERCOM award at the Chicago International Film Festival. Steve Pinner (SMG’91) of Hudson, Mass., is in his 20th season with the Marsh Chapel Choir and is assistant coach of BU’s baseball club. He plays bass for the River’s Edge Players of Hudson, Mass., and helps the stage crew. A 14-year veteran of the Boston Men’s Baseball League, he currently plays for the Quincy Grays. Glen Walter (CAS’91, CGS’90) of Stamford, Conn., is president of Labatt USA. He will lead the organization in selling and marketing all Labatt brands, as well as Brazil’s Brahma beer, in the U.S.

Mike Arsenault (CAS’92) and Chi Sun (LAW’97) of Brookline, Mass., welcomed their daughter, Emily Sun Arsenault, on March 2, 2006. Mike is a full-time acupuncturist in private practice at Internal Arts Acupuncture. Chi stepped down as economic director at the International Institute of Boston to become a stay-at-home mom. Catherine Kehoe (CFA’92) of Roslindale, Mass., received a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant to support her personal and artistic expenses last year. Catherine’s paintings were included in the exhibition Interface this spring at the Sherman Gallery on the BU campus.

Christophe Moerman (SHA’92, GSM’94) of Covington, Ky., celebrated the birth of twins, Alexander and Melina, on January 5, 2007. Christophe works at the Nielsen Company as director of client service for Procter & Gamble Family and Health Care.

Mark Robertson (CFA’92) of Los Angeles, Calif., was the music supervisor for the feature film Towards Darkness, which was accepted into competition by the 2007 Tribeca Film Festival. Mike Tardif (SED’95) of Waterville, Maine, captained a toboggan team that tied for third place among 140 teams competing in the four-person sled division at the U.S. National Toboggan Championships in Camden last February. Judges broke the tie by giving third place to the team with the lowest score of the two runs in the finals, dropping Mike’s team to fourth place in the official standings.
