Vincent Murray (SED’75) of Atlanta, Ga., is an adjunct professor at Central Michigan University and the principal of Atlanta’s Henry W. Grady High School. He recently received the 2006 Harold W. McGraw, Jr., Prize in Education from the McGraw-Hill Companies. He was honored for his leadership and innovative reforms, which successfully transformed the inner-city public high school, raising graduation and college-going rates and average standardized test scores above the district and state averages.
