Craig D. Blinderman (CAS’96) of New York, N.Y., addressed the incoming class of medical students at Columbia University’s Medical School for International Health, where he was a member of the 2002 charter class. Craig is a fellow in pain medicine and palliative care at the Beth Israel Medical Center in New York.

John Hanlon (COM’96) of Dorchester, Mass., was named 2005 Outstanding Recent Graduate of the Boston Latin School. He is the youngest recipient in the history of the award, which recognizes commitment to the education of children in Dorchester. John helped form, and is now executive director of, the Dorchester Educational Enrichment Program (Project D.E.E.P.), a nonprofit organization that serves Dorchester’s middle school students. Amy B. Fitzgibbon (SSW’97) of Westborough, Mass., is a stay-at-home mom. In May her son, Robert Francis IV, will turn three years old and she and her husband will welcome a baby girl into their family. Previously, Amy was a public school social worker.

Sarah K. Hunter (CAS’97) of Franklin, Mass., is vice president/counsel for human resources at Citizens Bank. Sarah joined Citizens last July after working as an associate at Brown Rudnick Berlack Israels in Providence, R.I. She is a member of the American Bar Association and the Boston Bar Association.

James Karis (COM’97,’99) of Fitchburg, Mass., has published Tchaikovsky for Suicidal Men (Avalini, 2005), a Borgesian assemblage of poems, plays, faux journal entries, and other imaginary musings.

Chi-Ho Lee (COM’97) of Somerville, Mass., is an editor for television programs and independent feature films. He was series editor for Stories from Red Sox Nation on NESN. Chi-Ho’s documentaries have been aired on WGBH and Animal Planet, and he edited The Busker, a locally produced high-definition film.

Alican Ayanlar (COM’98, CGS’96) of Istanbul, Turkey, started his own media consulting business after spending five years as an executive producer and presenter with CNBC-e, Turkey’s leading business news channel. Scott MacLean (GSM’98) of Winchester, Mass., is a fellow in the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS). HIMSS members are selected as fellows based on criteria such as professional capability, experience, leadership, and service to their profession. Scott is director of clinical systems at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and a corporate manager at Partners HealthCare, both in Boston. He is married and has three children.

Apostolos Paraskevas (CFA’98), of Medford, Mass., recently released a CD of his works for classical guitar, Garden of Eden (Clear Note). The recording ranges from his early work, “The Garden of Eden,” to the ALEA III–commissioned “Life of Death,” complete with strings and narrator. Apostolos is an associate professor of composition at the Berklee College of Music.  

Jason Rouche (GRS’98) of  Cambridge, Mass., has published his first book of poems, After Hours (Windstorm Creative, 2005). The sequence of 22 poems is set in the nightlife of urban hubs like Boston, New York City, and Paris. E-mail Jason at RoushJason@aol.com.

Richard Booker (ENG’99) of Houston, Tex., is the coauthor of Nanotechnology for Dummies (Wiley Publishing, Inc., 2005). He is currently working on a Ph.D. at Rice University.

Andrea DeHaan (GRS’99) of Athens, Ohio, published her first book as a German translator. She collaborated with her fiancée, Carsten Meier, on translating his photography book Public Parking into English. “I am extremely appreciative of the translation course I took with Rosanna Warren while getting my M.A. in creative writing at BU,” Andrea writes. Helen Clare Jenkins (STH’99) of Alexandria, Va., is associate director of the American Psychiatric Association’s department of governmental relations, working to advance the association’s legislative priorities in Washington, D.C. Helen worked previously for Rep. Earl Pomeroy (D-N.D.) on health policy issues and for Rep. Brad Carson (D-Okla.) as legislative assistant for health.

Panagiotis Liaropoulos (CFA’99,’01) of Athens, Greece, won second place at the Dimitri Mitropoulos International Composition Competition at a concert in November 2005. The event, held in Athens, featured the works of the five finalists, chosen from 160 submissions.

Aditee Majumdar (CAS’99) of Glenview, Ill., is a therapist at Apna Ghar, a Chicago South Asian domestic violence center. She was featured on National Public Radio’s WorldView on September 9 as part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Aditee spoke about the effective use of dance therapy with South Asian domestic violence survivors. She also spoke on Chicago’s PBS station about domestic violence resources for women of diverse backgrounds throughout Chicago. Aditee can be reached at amajumdar@apnaghar.org.
