Carolyn Pointer (SED’96) of Boston, Mass., assisted attorneys representing the state of Alabama and state agencies in civil actions and administrative hearings over the summer. Attorney General Troy King said of Carolyn, “We are delighted to have someone of her talent working with us this summer.” She also spent some of the summer working with the Family Advocacy Program at Boston Medical Center. She is in her third year at BU’s School of Law, and is president of Children and the Law. She works as a part-time research assistant for LAW Professor Cynthia Barr of the legislative drafting program. During Carolyn’s first year at LAW, she opened a drop-in center for teens at St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Charlestown.
Christopher Shepard (COM’96) of Watertown, Mass., married Elizabeth Bleecher at the Commander’s Mansion in Watertown in 2003. He writes a weekly sports column for the NY Sports Express, New York’s premier weekly sports newspaper. For the past two years he has worked as an English composition facilitator for the University of Phoenix Online.
