Join Boston University faculty members from the College of Arts & Sciences for an exclusive educational experience beyond campus. BU alumni will have access to behind-the-scenes tours at the Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff, Arizona, and hands-on practice in operating the 72-inch Perkins Telescope. Stargaze like an astronomer at the Discovery Channel Telescope for an intimate view of the cosmos and a deeper understanding of the universe.
This weekend-long educational program will include on-site meals and events and daily travel between Little American Hotel and the observatory campus, as well as to both telescopes for private access to sites not open to the public. BU Astronomy Professors Dan Clemens and Andrew West will lead lectures and small-group instruction, providing a foundation for witnessing the stars, planets, and galaxies of our night sky.
