The population of the United States hit 300 million on October 17, 2006. That means one in 1,300 Americans is a BU alum. Yes, that's right, Terriers are everywhere. With some 230,000 alumni in the United States — plus some 20,000 abroad, but for the moment we won't be counting them — in any large crowd, more than a few BU alums will likely be present. So the next time you're sitting in a stadium for a game or a concert, remember, that might well be a BU alum next to you.
