What We Do
GSAHA runs a series of informal lectures by local scholars and professionals. They take place throughout the school year and are a great way to learn about the art world and meet people in the field.
Learn more about the lectures.
We also want to help you get ready for the Comps. Thus, Dorothy Nieciecki, this semester's coordinator, will be running information sessions and reviews.

Student/Faculty Committee
In order to keep the lines of communication open, a small group of students (usually 1 MA, 1 PhD and a GSAHA officer) meet regularly with the Department Chair and the Director of Graduate Studies to discuss all aspects of student life.
We organize one of the longest running Graduate Student Symposiums in the country. Students from across the world come to share their work one weekend during the spring semester. It's a great event so get involved! Contact Melissa Renn for more information.
When is the deadline for applying for graduation? Where is this week's lecture? Our new online calendar seeks to answer all these questions and more by compiling a comprehensive list of department & university deadlines, events around town, and funding opportunities.
Check out the calendar.
GSAHA also helps plan the department holiday and end of the year parties as well as more informal events.

Once or twice a semester GSAHA holds an open meeting for all members at which we discuss issues and plan upcoming events. We hope you'll join us. Our first meeting will be Tuesday, September 11th at 5:30pm in CAS 303A. Afterwards we'll head to the BU Pub.
