New Approaches to Art, Art History and Visual Culture

The Visual Culture Consortium, Boston is proud to host the Fifth Annual Undergraduate Art History Symposium at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston

Seeking to foster dialogue among emerging scholars studying at undergraduateinstitutions in New England, this symposium will bring together students from across the region to present their research on a diverse array of subjects related to ArtHistory, Visual Culture and their associated contexts. Papers from a broad range of topics in art history and visual culture will be considered.
The symposium will be arranged as panels of 15-minute papers followed by questions & discussion.

When: Saturday, April 13, 2013, 12:00 – 4:30 pm
Where: The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston
Alfond Auditorium
465 Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02115

To submit a proposal:
Students should submit a 250 word abstract of their proposed 15-minute paper to Dr. Cynthia Fowler at the email address below by Wednesday, February 1, 2013.
Papers will be selected by a committee of area art historians. Notification of the committee’s decision regarding participation will be sent by March 1, 2013.
Completed papers must be submitted for review by April 1, 2013.
Please note: Students are required to work with a faculty sponsor from their home institution.
To be considered for participation, please email an abstract and a title page that includes the following:
1) your name and contact information;
2) the title of your proposed paper;
3) your faculty sponsor’s name and contact information.
