Virgil Suárez

Virgil Suárez (author page at Amazon) was born in Cuba in 1962. In 1974, he moved to the United States, where he later received his MFA at Louisiana State University. He has published five collections of poetry and two memoirs. Among his many achievements and awards are the Florida State Individual Artist Grant and the G. MacCarthur Poetry Prize, as well as a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts. He currently lives in Tallahassee. (updated 7/2010)
