Margo Berdeshevsky

Margo Berdeshevsky (author page at Amazon) and born in New York City and now lives and writes in Paris. She has published two poetry collections, Between Soul and Stone and But a Passage in Wilderness (both Sheep Meadow Press). A more recent poetry manuscript was a finalist for the 2015 National Poetry Series. Her book of illustrated stories, Beautiful Soon Enough, received Fiction Collective Two’s Ronald Sukenick/American Book Review Innovative Fiction Award. (The book included the AGNI stories “Pas de Deux, à Trois,” “A Troika for Lovers,” and “A Friday Desdemona.”) Other honors include the Robert H. Winner Award from the Poetry Society of America, the Chelsea Award, and the & Now Anthology of the Best of Innovative Writing. A Tsunami Notebook of her documentary photographs and poems—made after work at a survivors’ clinic in Aceh, Sumatra, in spring 2005—can be seen online. In the United States her work has appeared in Poetry International, AGNI, New Letters, The Kenyon Review, The Collagist, Gulf Coast, Pleiades, Prairie Schooner, and elsewhere, and, in Europe, in The Poetry Review (U.K.), The Wolf, Europe, Siècle 21, and Confluences Poétiques.
