Her poetry collections are Underwater City (University Press of Florida, 2004), Luckily, a Florida Book Award winner (Anhinga Press, 2006), and the forthcoming Five Kingdoms (Anhinga, 2009). “How to Make a Shoe” is from her memoir, I Wore the Ocean in the Shape of a Girl, which The Free Press / Simon & Shuster will publish in September 2011.
